Hello, my name is
Leanne DaCosta
I’m a Principal-level Product Designer with 20+ years of experience across industrial design, branding, licensing, and digital product design. My background gives me a broad systems perspective and a deep appreciation for how people experience products, both physically and digitally.
I began my career in industrial design, where I developed a strong foundation in problem-solving, user empathy, and creating thoughtful, functional experiences. Over time, I expanded into UX and product design, applying that same holistic approach to complex digital products where clarity, consistency, and usability matter most.
Throughout my career, I’ve led end-to-end design across web and mobile, partnered closely with product and engineering, and helped shape solutions for ambiguous, high-stakes problem spaces. I’m comfortable operating at both the strategic and hands-on levels — defining direction, mentoring designers, facilitating alignment, and contributing directly to the work.
I bring a systems mindset shaped by experience in branding and licensing, which has strengthened my ability to create cohesive experiences across touchpoints and ensure design decisions support trust, scalability, and business goals. As a strategic individual contributor, I influence product direction beyond my immediate scope and help teams raise the quality of their thinking, collaboration, and execution.
I’m especially motivated by opportunities to shape design strategy, strengthen product experiences, and contribute as a trusted design leader within cross-functional teams.
All of my art has consisted of cutting away what other people would add.
